Not only will your home be more secure, the Ala Dept of Insurance has mandated that all homes built to Fortified standards will be eligible for a discount off the homeowners insurance rates.
Yes, it does cost more to build a new roof to Fortified standards, but based on the homes we have completed to Fortified standards, the payback period looks to be 2-3 years, maybe shorter.
